We resolve to love
Before we begin our meetings, we gather to
pray the introductory prayer, 'The Resolution'. In this prayer we resolve
to love one another with great love.
Our humanity often gets in the way and we sometimes find it
difficult to sustain this love and end up at having difficulty accepting
and loving each other unconditionally.
Thus we need to learn the art or the ability of reconciling our
strained relationships, we can therefore speak of the need of an
education towards reconciliation.
It is very common for the great majority of our Centres that Members
meet each other on a daily basis. When we meet we teach, we learn, we
pray, we talk and we socialize. Yet it is also very common that although
we do so many things together we seldom go deep into our inter-personal
relationships and many do opt to remain at the surface or more bluntly
even to be very superficial in their encounters.
Let us therefore strive to empower our communities to grow in the
art of dialogue, of being able to share experiences and reflections in
order to reach a more complete vision of ourselves, of our groups and of
the entire world in which we live. Let us also keep in mind that dialogue
should serve as a catalyst for the community to grow in companionship.
If we approach each other with any form of criticism or protest
which makes a fruitful dialogue difficult or completely impossible, we
will be responsible of practicing a vice and not a virtue.
