Further Beatification Celebrations 
      Following the Thanksgiving Mass for the Beatification of Father George Preca at St Patrick’s Cathedral on 17 June 2001, further Masses were held in each state where the SDC is present: 
     Hobart 7 July: Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Most Reverend A. Doyle, Archbishop of Hobart at St Canice Church, Sandy Bay. Present was Charles Galea, Regional Superior and Peter Judge, REC Hobart. 
     Sydney 22 July: Thanksgiving Mass celebrated  by Reverend Carmelo Sciberras at La Vallette Hall, Blacktown. 

SDC members, Raymond De Bono, Carmen Farrugia, Gaetan Callus, Victor De Bono, Angelo Abela, Franco Zardo, Joseph Kielnerowski, Ted Farrugia, Anthony Gatt with Archbishop Philip Wilson following the Mass in Adelaide.

     Adelaide 29 July: Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Most Reverend Philip Wilson, Coadjutor Archbishop of Adelaide at Christ the King Church, Lockleys. Present were Angelo Abela, Assistant Regional Superior, Anthony Gatt, REC Adelaide, Raymond De Bono, Victor De Bono, from Melbourne. 
     Brisbane 5 September: Thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Most Reverend John Gerry, Auxiliary Bishop of Brisbane and Most Reverend Raymond Benjamin, retired Bishop of Townsville at St Anthony’s Church, Alexandra Hills. Present were George Felice and Joseph Cassar from Sydney. 
     The Australian Region will now conduct one Mass in each state on around 9 May to commemorate the Founder, Blessed George Preca.

 KENYA 
Mpeketoni Superior Geatano Decelis, together with sdc Members Joe Cassar and Simon Wekesa, attended a retreat at Mombasa organized by the Diocese of Malindi. The retreat was of great spiritual value for our Members. 

SUDAN 
Khartoum An Elects Ceremony will be held at Sebil Centre early in December. We are very happy to note the positive response the Christian community at Sebil is giving to our Members. This is also the first Centre where we have a group of adults who formed the first group of SDC Co-operators.
