The
Perfect Murder
The
Perfect Murder is a 2D point and click detective mystery adventure made in AGS, influenced
by Agatha Christie and 1920s film noir. It attempts to be slightly cheesy and
cliché, but in an ironically self-aware, tongue-in-cheek manner. A demo of the
game is already out, and development of the rest of the game will continue as
and when inspiration strikes. :)
Story
You
play Pete Marshall, a private investigator who’s seen better
days. A former alcoholic who hit the bottle when his wife left
him, he lives a lonely, solitary existence, having quarrelled with
Lucas, his best (and only) friend years ago.
One
day, Lucas phones out of the blue. He says he’s in prison,
framed for a murder he did not commit. You must work your way
through a tangled web of deceit, intrigue, betrayal, and more plot
twists than you can shake a stick at. In your attempt to prove
your friend’s innocence, you may even rise above your past and
redeem yourself…
Demo
The Perfect Murder demo runs
in 640*480 resolution in high colour. It consists of 5 rooms, one
of which is not necessary to complete the demo. Finishing the demo
can be done very quickly, but to get the most out of it, features
such as a working mobile phone and unique messages when
looking/using/talking to almost all objects should be explored.
The demo can be downloaded here.
