Living in Sliema, in the heart of the action along the coastal Tower Road is the aspiration of young Maltese: in the centre of the newest urban areas, close to nightlife and Malta's best shopping, Tower Road's luxury apartments enjoy the best sea-views, with the beach only a few metres away. Many of Malta's foreign residents choose to live in Sliema, and thousands of young Europeans also lodge here with host families while they study the English language.

When the heat of summer days abates, young people crowd the cafes that line Tower Road and Bisazza Street and many people converge on the promenade for the evening walk,Sliema has over six hundred commercial outlets; its shopping district of international chains of designer clothes shops -not to mention offshore financial companies comprises a small area northeast of the Sliema Ferries ,demarcated by Bisazza Street(location of Jade)Tower Road and the Strand.

South of Sliema is Gzira,a working-class town and Msida , a residential town clustered round Msida Creek in the inner part of the harbour ,where over seven hundred Yachts berth in Malta's largest Yacht Marina.
