Before
every meeting, the volunteers of Mid-Dlam ghad-Dawl recite
a "Statement of Companionship" (in Maltese), with which they
renew their allegiance
to each other and to their common mission. The Statement is the
following:
My
God is the Truth; I shall have no other god but Truth.
I desire to love the Truth, my God, with all my heart,
with all
my soul, and with all my strength. The Truth is my only
joy and freedom; the Just; the only Beauty that exists.
The Truth is the only source of life, God of all mercy
and goodness, God of boundless humility. With His grace,
though undeserving, Truth has given me my companions
to show me who I am; to purify me from any deception; to
accept myself as I am. I want to love them with all the
faithfulness my heart is capable of, and cherish their
word as a treasured secret. I want to allow the light of
the Truth, my God, shine in the darness of my life, so
that all that I think and say and do shall be for His greatest
glory and for the joy and peace of myself and of the whole
world.
