2005-2006
|
REDUCING
TOURIST
VICTIMISATION
IN EUROPE |
Victim Support Malta is one of the partners in a
European Union AGIS project on tourist victimisation in Europe.
AIM & TASKS
The main aim of the project is to look at support
services for tourists and business travellers who fall victim to
crime in France, Malta and England.
Project partners will lead on a
collabrative report into commonalities found by the project partners
themselves in looking
at the practicability of setting up victim assistance services
for tourist and business travellers. The researchers in England, France and Malta will participate
in regular meetings and roundtables to discuss and compare research
and share best practice. They will also undertake specific research
on behalf of the group as and when required.
OUTCOMES
The project is intended to have two main outcomes.
First, a survey will be made in each participant country so as to
gauge the exact prevalence of tourist victimisation.
Secondly, a best practice guide will be issued
for
reducing
tourist victimisation in the the participant countries and in Europe.
